4 Simple Ways To Naturally Relieve Your Back Pain At Home

Posted on

Are you experiencing some back pain? Instead of taking traditional medication to ease the discomfort, there are many things you can do right at home to get some relief. Most importantly, they are completely natural, so you would not have to worry about potential side effects that come along with traditional medication.

1. Start Stretching

Stretching your body is a great way to get relief. You can start by sitting down on the floor with your legs stretched out. Point your toes and then bend your upper body forward with your arms stretched out as you are reaching down to touch your toes. Hold your body in this position for about 20 seconds before moving on to the next stretch.

You can bend down on your knees on the floor or a yoga mat and then stretch your arms forward while dropping your head down. You could also rest on your back and stretch your legs straight out in the air. If you complete these stretches regularly, you may start to feel less pain.

2. Massage Your Back

Give your back a nice massage using a tennis ball. It may sound unusual, but it works well as a personal massage tool, especially if you already have one of these balls at home. Simply roll it over your back for relief. If someone else lives with you, such as significant other or sibling, you can always ask them to roll the ball over areas of your back that are difficult for you to reach on your own.

3. Soak in a Chamomile Bath

Chamomile essential oil is known to help people relax. You can add this essential oil to your bathwater and then soak in it for about 30 minutes. It has a great scent and you may feel more comfortable after the bath because of the combination of both the essential oil and warm water.

4. Consume More Anti-Inflammatory Foods

If your back is hurting, eating anti-inflammatory foods can help. It is important to make sure you are consuming plenty of these healthy and beneficial foods. Some of the best anti-inflammatory foods include salmon, spinach, blueberries, and pineapple. If you are not a big eater of fruits and vegetables, you can blend them together and make smoothies.

Getting through the day with back pain is a challenge. However, there are some things you can do at home to get a bit of relief and feel more comfortable without taking medication. Stretching your body, massaging your back with a tennis ball, soaking in a chamomile bath, and consuming more anti-inflammatory foods may help you get the relief you want and truly need.
